Export Pipe Network to acad dwg/dxf
We have a pipe network defined in Ezigrade as follows:
We want to export this to an Acad dwg/dxf file. At present Ezigrade has no dwg/dxf export option. However the CDS helper program can export to a dwg. CDS is included when you purchase Ezigrade. Unfortunately CDS doesn't understand pipe networks at present. However we have a work around. In Ezigrade we can create a series of strings representing the pipes. Then in CDS we can export these strings to a dwg.
In Ezigrade click on Pipe -> Save Strings menu item. This will create a series of strings. If you go to View -> Strings then you can confirm that the strings now exist. They may be hard to see on the screen as the pipes overwrite them.
In Ezigrade click on File -> CDS and the CDS program should open with our job. Alternatively close the job in Ezigrade and open in CDS. In CDS we have this:
We can now export this. Set what is to be exported. Click on File -> Plot Parameters. Here you can turn off contours and points etc so we only get the strings in the dwg.
Now click on Export -> DWG and inside a cad program we have:
