Tile Drainage - Use our own defined pipe size/type

The "Tile Drainage" component has routines that will automatically calculate the optimum sized pipe along the pipe. There is also a routine to set actual pipe sizes from pipework that is available.

However it is often the case that we want to overwrite calculated pipe sizes with our own values. For example all your laterals may be 2" with a couple of 3". You may wish to override this and set them all to 2". Or you may have some 10 inch pipe used. However in places you wish to use 8" double walled instead. We now have an option to do this.

Under Pipes look at the "User Diameter" menu item / icon in the design sub-section area. Clicking on this brings up the following table. This is a simple design for demostration purposes.

You can see that we have a tabular list of the pipes as well as a total length, and how the pipework is layed out. There is a "User Entered" section. If this is filled in, it will overwrite the calculated values. If nothing is entered then the calculated values will be used.

As an example assume we have some 120mm double skinned pipework that we need to use. So next to pipe_0 we could set the following:

Click OK and this will be used in any reports etc.

Though unlikely it is possible that you may have more "user entered" data than calculated data. In this case you need to add in a new empty line. In this case click in the left column on "2". Now press the "insert" key and we get a new empty line. Fill in the new data. For example lets say we only have 100m of the 120mm pipe to use we could have this:

Dont worry about the decimals when filling in user Distance. Ezigrade will correct the last pipe size in the run so that the distances match with the "total dist".

We also had a request from a user to be able to set all there laterals to the correct value. So click on the "Set All Laterals" button and follow the prompts to get:

So know when we run a report the entered values are reported.
